Summary

The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for formulating in-depth inventory forecasts and managing and allocating merchandise for a category of product.  The BA works with the Product Manager (PM) to ensure the merchandise category achieves its goals and positively impacts the organzation's bottom-line.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Formulate in-depth inventory forecasts and manage and allocate inventory
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory in stocks on all Active items within the assortment
    • In store as well as DC (for Key Items)
    • Utilizing Replenishment at POS or Allocation
    • Own the creation/maintenance of Purchase Orders (Placement/Tracking)
  • Work with Product Manager on creation of Assortment Plans by store grouping
    • Provide analysis of selling per store to show breakouts of selling by region/locale
  • Support store requests thru DM/IA calls
  • Support .98/VIP/Key Item ladder plans with updated receipts and sales adjustments made by PM
  • Negotiate and maintain business relationships with vendors
  • Work with PM and vendors to achieve optimal inventory levels and drive sales
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Sourcing, Finance, Distribution and Stores.
  • Provide recommendations around clearance/ISS/end of season

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance or Merchandising with 2-4 years of applicable business experience in merchandise planning, buying or inventory forecasting and allocation

Other Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to solve problems and make sound business decisions

  • Assertive/not afraid to speak up and present ideas; strong initiative to take action and get the job done
  • Clear and effective communication both verbally and written; able to communicate across the organzation and at all levels
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • MS Office Suite and other PC applications
  • Proven analytical skills and abilities
